Elizabeth Arden's new limited collection, Sunset Bronze, lands on counters tomorrow. Like most collections from across the seas, we get what the northern hemisphere receives which means summery collections in the dead of our winter and vice versa. But you know what, it doesn't bother me and this collection lands just in time for my mid winter getaway to Bali. So I'm one happy beauty fanatic!

The spiel...
"Inspired by the breathtaking summer sunset, Elizabeth Arden introduces the new Sunset Bronze Limited Edition Colour Collection 2016 to capture the multi-coloured warmth, beauty and mystery of dusk and the night to come.
As the sun goes down, the sky is bathed in a remarkable array of bronze, stunning purples, warm pink and orange hues. The lower position of the sun affects the way light reflects on skin, creating a luminous reflection for the perfect seductive, bronzed look."

My thoughts..
I'm all about bronzed makeup with beautiful highlighting, it's my thing really. So when I first heard the name of this collection I really wanted to get my hands on it. The full range features Sunset Bronze Prismatic Bronzing Powder (RRP$69), Sunset Bronze Prismatic Eye Shadow Palette (RRP$75), Sunset Bronze Prismatic Lip Gloss (RRP$49, 3 colours) and Sunset Bronze Prismatic Highlighter (RRP$61).
The word Prismatic throughout the names instantly reminded me of Katy Perry and I think that's fitting especially for the eye and lip colours. They are totally something I could see the pop princess wearing as they are all lovely purple, pink and champagne coloured shades.
My favourite item from the collection? The highlighter! Ugh I am so in love with it and wear it almost daily at the moment. I find with highlighters, especially in cream/stick form they usually have a very white base so can look too pearlish and irredescent on Olive skin like I have. This highlighter has such a warm champagne coloured base and it flawlessesly blends into my skin. If you're Olive or darker skinned then I seriousl yreccomend trying this. Its like I was born with perfectly highlighted cheekbones when i apply this, it really seems to look like its my own natural highlight as it molds so perfectly into my skin tone! BUT if you have pale skin it will work for you too, I made my mum try it out so I could see it on a different skin tone and it looked pretty on her too, it was just more of a highlighter to use when you going for a bronzed look (as the collection name suggests) when you are a little paler. I'm seriously going to have to buy a few of these highlighters, as I will be very sad when it runs out and is no longer avaiable as it's a limited collection!

I have really enjoyed wearing the bronzer too. It's really pigmented so a little goes a long way so put a little on your brush and build it up, becasue you could easily apply too much if you are heavy handed with your brush. The formula has Microlight Minerals which is meant to work like the Blur technology we have seen in makeup the last few years. It works by blurring away fine lines and imprefections! As a added bonus the bronzer comes with a half moon brush for application. The only disspointment for me with this is the brush doesn't fit in the case itself. So you will need to keep it in a small makeup bag if you like to carry your bronzer with you to touch up during the day.
Now I'm not the biggest fan of gloss in general, and at first glance this trio looked a little scary to me with the glittery finish they have.

The colour on the far left of my hand is definitely not my cup of tea, it reminds me of what I used to lather on my lips to wear to blue light discos when I was 12! That purple colour with the pearl shine doesn't do anyhting for my colouring! But the champagne colour on the right is gorgeous and the pink in the middle would be great to add over a lipstick in the centre of your lip to create an illusion of fuller lips. As mentioned earlier they look to have a glitter finish which was a tad scary, but the "multi-dimensioanl pearls" that give it this effect is where the colour changing efffects the glosses have come from. In the light they change colour and have a beautiful high shine finish. Lesson I learnt? Don't shy away from things that look glittery, they won't all be a bad flashback to the glitter filled makeup i wore in my early teens!
Shades: Moonlight Kiss (Lavender), Midnight Kiss (Soft Pink), Sunset Kiss (Champagne)

Now the good news? I'm giving away the lip glosses and eye shadow palate to one lucky reader. All you have to do is comment on why you need a bit of Sunset broze in your life either this post or the FB or Instagram post about this collection and tag friend. I will draw the winner on Wednesday 6th of July.
