Host the Melbourne Cup lunch at Ostro? Hell yes! Jay and I went to the Melbourne Cup last year and had the best time. Naturally we were really excited when we were asked to host this event, but the first thing that went through my head was what to wear, dress, head-piece, make up and hair? First world problems I know. [wpvideo mLNqXghk]
I visited the new Elizabeth Arden boutique in Queen St earlier in the year to get a custom colour foundation, so figured I should try their makeup service. Race Day calls for classic beauty, that's what Elizabeth Arden stands for in my opinion and they most definitely delivered.
Dry and Tea is always my go to when I have an event to go to, you can be in and out in a flash and they always do an amazing job. Some hairdressers I have been to in the past are a bit scared to deal with my wig, you can see it on their face that they are scared it's going to fall off (it most definitely will not!) and whenever I have a new stylist at Dry and Tea it never seems to bother them.
Claire Hahn makes beautiful headpieces and I was lucky enough to borrow one for the day. I have been wanting to wear one of her incredible creations for a while and gosh it was so beautiful!
The dress I wore is an old Ruby one I bought earlier in the year and have worn quite a few times now, so flattering and it has pockets. I have a weird thing for dresses with pockets!
Watch the transformation below. P.s Of course the day I'm filmed with a high def camera a nice little red pimple decides to rare its ugly head!
