HYDRATING MISTS ARE A BIG THING – HERE ARE MY PERSONAL FAVOURITES

July 23, 2017

Hydrating mists have been big in the beauty world for the last few years and I totally understand why. They are one of my favourite beauty items for a number of reasons; they’re portable so it’s easy to give the skin a blast of moisture or freshen up when needed, use before applying makeup to add to application or set your powders with it, they invigorate tired skin as well and give you that dewy look everyone is after. What’s not to love girlfriends, get amongst if you haven’t already!

Here are a few of my personal favourites I’ve used from $10 – so something to suit everyone’s budgets.

I have used the pimple solutions from Mario Badescu for years but recently Fiona Clare Beauty introduced me to this facial spray and I love it. It’s a firm favourite of a lot of makeup artists fro freshening up your skin and makes eyeshadows super pigmented. Available at Mecca. 118ml $10

Murad Essential-C Toner does fall under the toner category more than mist but Have been a long time user of this and love it first thing in the morning. This rejuvenates environmentally stressed skin and Coneflower and Licorice Root Extracts tone and brightens skin for a healthy radiance, while natural moisture factors condition and help skin retain healthy hydration levels. $68 from Caci Clinic or Murad.co.nz

This is a ULTRA fine mist with acai berry and caffeine which gives dull, sleepy skin an instant boost of hydration. Perfect for us tired mamas.  I swear by it when flying and used it in the super dry air while skiing in Mammoth in December and it did the trick. 100ml $43

Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist is filled with the essence of rose (which makes it smell divine!) and marshmallow to restore, tone and hydrate. Leaves the skin balanced and refreshed and ideal for maintaining balance. $34.20 50ml

I haven’t really shared my bald head with the sun for years for many reasons; not wanting strangers to feel uncomfortable (weird, I know) and the habit of putting my wig on first thing and not taking it off till night. I burnt my head modelling bald when I was 17 and it was beyond painful, I made the same mistake this year sailing in Spain.
At 33 I have stopped caring about how I make other people feel with my baldness and have been rocking the look. While I love some Vit D, I need to protect my skin and scalp from the sun's harmful rays (especially in this part of the world). Enter @snowberrybeautynz, they introduced me to their broad spectrum SPF 30 made with zinc oxide and a blend of NZ botanicals, and I love it. It goes on easy (some zincs I have found so hard to rub in), it’s lightweight, non greasy (important if my wig is going to go over it at some point), coral friendly and 100% free from any nasties. #SnowberrySkincare - my best defence this summer! #ProudlySponsored #BoostedByScience
