Osmosis Colour - Review

December 6, 2016

About a month ago I visited the Osmosis headquarters and was schooled in their new beauty line Osmosis Colour, well I shouldn't say new, as it isn't, but for some reason I hadn't come across it which is weird as I know all about their skincare range. Madness I tell ya! The collection is mineral based and I have fallen in love with it more and more from the day I started wearing it. Where to start?

The CC Cream. I have never found a CC cream that worked for me like this one, it's really REALLY beautiful. I'm currently wearing Warm and it's perfect on my olive skin tone. Speaking of colour when you pump it out of the tube it's white, as it features True Tone Technology where micro-capsules burst on application to provide perfect pigment, that transforms into your own skin tone when applied. Pretty clever right?!  I love the way it looks on my skin and has been my go to for daily use since I started wearing it. I also love how it's  pump application, one pump can cover my entire face for a really sheer look or if I need slightly heavier coverage two is plenty!

I have been layering it with the pressed powder whenever I wanted an even fuller coverage during the day. The pressed powder is triple milled so it is very fine and doesn't cake in any fine lines and wrinkles. It contains Zinc Oxide so if you put a decent amount on (don't worry it never looks caked on) then it works as a SPF - win win. Because its tipple milled it doesn't give you any flash back too, so no ghost faces in photos. It's beautiful on it's on but I much prefer who it looks once you use their Hydration Mist to set it. After a few spritzes of the face it truly becomes part of you, you don't look like you are wearing makeup at all, which is what we all want right? To look like we are just that fabulous with no help at all! So the Hydration Finishing Mist is a MUST in my books. Another plus about the Pressed Powder is that the packaging is reusable, you can buy refills of the powder which works out cheaper and much better than chucking out all that beautiful packaging each time.

Other highlights?

The eyebrow gel is epic, I have shied away from gels for pencils but I just love this formula. It's waterproof, a great colour and I love how it has the brush in the lid, so no need to worry about packing or having a brush on your for touch ups. Not that I have ever needed to touch up.

Self sharpening black pencil eyeliner with brush to blend? Dreamy. Why didn't people put brushes on the end of the pencils to blend sooner? So much better than those sponges!

The Foundation is a great option for nighttime wear, great coverage and again no flash back in photography. It stays true to colour as it doesnt oxidize throughtou the day either.  May I mention here that I had a little too much to drink one night and fell asleep in a full face of it, woke up with totally fine skin and no dryness or flakes like would happen in other foundations. So while I shouldn't say it's ok to sleep in your makeup, we all know that a big no no, but if you do this is the brand to do it in!

I haven’t really shared my bald head with the sun for years for many reasons; not wanting strangers to feel uncomfortable (weird, I know) and the habit of putting my wig on first thing and not taking it off till night. I burnt my head modelling bald when I was 17 and it was beyond painful, I made the same mistake this year sailing in Spain.
At 33 I have stopped caring about how I make other people feel with my baldness and have been rocking the look. While I love some Vit D, I need to protect my skin and scalp from the sun's harmful rays (especially in this part of the world). Enter @snowberrybeautynz, they introduced me to their broad spectrum SPF 30 made with zinc oxide and a blend of NZ botanicals, and I love it. It goes on easy (some zincs I have found so hard to rub in), it’s lightweight, non greasy (important if my wig is going to go over it at some point), coral friendly and 100% free from any nasties. #SnowberrySkincare - my best defence this summer! #ProudlySponsored #BoostedByScience
